If staining is mainly sitting on the surface, Airflow may be enough. If you want to lighten the natural colour of the teeth themselves, whitening is usually the more effective option.
How Does Professional Teeth Whitening Work?
Professional whitening uses a carefully controlled whitening gel to lighten pigments within the teeth.
For home whitening, we make custom-fitted trays specifically for your mouth and show you how much gel to use and how to wear them safely. The trays are normally worn for a set period each day or overnight, depending on the whitening system.
Your smile gradually becomes brighter over the course of treatment, allowing you to control how light you would like your teeth to become.
What Results Can I Expect?
Most patients notice a clear improvement within the first few days, with the colour continuing to lighten as treatment progresses. How much your teeth whiten will depend on their starting shade and the type of discolouration.
The result is not permanent, but your custom trays can usually be kept and used again for occasional top-ups with additional whitening gel, making it easy to refresh your smile in the future.
